It's Friday! Huzzah! Remember that you need to finish up your projects today so they will be ready for a presentation on Monday. You should be ready to present for about 10-15 minutes per group. Please see the presentation selling points to discuss information about your ads with the "judges." I chose the numbers randomly and here is the order: Monday, September 30: 15-20 minutes to prepare details Group 4 Group 6 Group 1 Tuesday, October 1: Group 3 Group 2 Group 7 Group 5 If there's time left over on Monday, I will not make group 3 go. I will collect the presentations and show them to a panel of judges (probably Mr. Martin and Mr. Weber) We will place them in order from #1-#7 and you will receive your points. The winner will receive pizza on Friday during their lunch hour. Continue to work on your projects. Check the scoreboard to see how your team is doing. We will have the presentations during class on Monday, so you should be working on HOW you will present today and tomorrow, as well as finish up all of your components.
If you have everything done, you may want to try incorporating them into an online presentation tool like prezi.com or powerpoint. In addition, remember that you can edit videos in movie maker on the computers. Continue to work on your projects. Remember that the FINAL advertising presentations will be on Monday, September 30. Even if you have all of the components done, you should try to edit your video on movie maker (to add music and effects) and then decide in what order you are going to display your product on Monday using the advertising plan. Continue to work on your projects. Remember that each day is worth 20 points. See the current scoreboard here.
Mrs. Rosin is looking for the following:
By the end of today, try to have one aspect of your project done.
This week, you and your group will be trying to create your own marketing campaign. This will include making a product package, a billboard, a magazine ad, a radio commercial, and a TV commercial using a team member's camera and movie maker on the computer to edit. Before you begin, you should read through the project details. You will also fill out the planning form below and keep a checklist with you as you work to help keep you on track. Before we begin creating an ad campaign next week, I'd like you to think about the power of media. We will discuss the project for the next couple of weeks, and we'll discuss how your groups can earn BONUS points toward your final goal of ad domination. Today, you can earn bonus points before the project begins. You will join with your group and we will have a contest in a few different areas. If there's time, check out this interesting website, play some games, and see all of the advertising tricks advertisers use.
Today, you will see a rubric that will be used for commercials you and your group will begin creating next week. We will use the rubric on a commercial that Mrs. Rosin particularly enjoys. We will also go over your homework and share commercials and techniques that you saw. Lastly, we will try to brainstorm why different kinds of ads might be appropriate for different demographics and companies. ![]()
